Federal authorities told FOXNews.com that Dr. Conrad Murray is not licensed to administer certain levels of controlled medications in the state, and that if he gave Demerol or Oxycontin to Jackson, as has been reported, it would have been illegal.
To possess the drugs in California, Murray would have had to bring them with him from Nevada or Texas, which is illegal, or administer drugs that other doctors had provided locally or that Jackson had ordered online from abroad, which is also illegal.
"Dr. Murray has DEA registration numbers in Nevada and Texas, but he does not have one in California," a federal law enforcement official told FOXNews.com. "You absolutely have to have a registration number to prescribe controlled substances, and there was nothing in California."

David Carradine�s death not a suicide, says forensic M.D.

After numerous ill-founded rumors, a medical examiner hired by the late actor�s family has determined that David Carradine died from accidental asphyxiation, and not from any compulsion to take his own life. The 72-year old actor, who starred in more than 100 films, including a celebrated performance in 2004�s, �Kill Billl, Volume II� was found dead in a Thailand hotel room on June 4th. An autopsy was performed the next day in Thailand, but the family hired forensic specialist, Dr. Michael Baden to re-examine Mr. Carradine once he was returned to the States, and today he made a brief statement.
�The cause of death was asphyxiation; an inability to breathe.� Dr. Baden told reporters. �Why that happened is now what we�re working on. He didn�t die of natural causes, and he didn�t die of suicide, so that leaves some kind of accidental death.�

After a maid discovered Mr. Carradine�s body in the Thailand hotel, local authorities said it would take at least a month to fully determine the cause of his death. Dr. Baden is now awaiting that news from Thai police and the hotel�s own security staff to rule out the chance that persons unknown may have caused David�s death. Chris Brown's assault trial is apparently full steam ahead because Rihanna has been ordered to testify against her abusive ex. E! News reports:

The singer's attorney, Donald Etra, told E! News that Rihanna will be called to testify at the June 22 preliminary hearing in Brown's felony assault case.
"The judge advised me that there will be a subpoena for Rihanna as a witness at the preliminary hearing," Etra said following a morning hearing. "She will definitely comply."
And she will be doing so while facing her alleged attacker.
"He has to be here anytime a witness is called," Brown's attorney Mark Geragos said, confirming that the "monster"-denying R&B star will indeed be present to hear the testimony.

According to police, the victim's 7-year-old brother discovered the child in distress, and alerted their mother.
